A letter on your 6th birthday.

Image
February 8, 2016 Today, is your 6 th birthday.   Although, technically you won’t really be 6 for another hour and a half…you were born late.   I am amazed that so much time has passed us by, so quickly.   My once “baby”, then “toddler”, is now all boy.   You are such a sweet and fun boy, and truly my whole heart.   I’m not sure there is anything I am more proud of in my life.   I am most baffled, still, about so many things at this age….to name a few…. ·       How did you ever get to be so handsome?   Some days I look at you and wonder, how did we ever get so lucky…and boy are we in trouble with you in a few years.   We  have to teach you how not to break every girls heart. ·       Will your hair always be the same style because of that enormous (and cute) cow lick?   I caught you in the bathroom last week trying to comb it down with gel.   I tried to explain that it w...

Almost ready...

This may very well be the last post before Baby B arrives!  We went to the Doctor this morning, and we have officially been scheduled for induction next Monday, February 8th.  However, that does NOT mean that we will have him on the 8th.  If the hospital is really busy that day with deliveries, they will bump us over to Tuesday.  Also, he is very happy and content in there, not really wanting to come out into this world, so this could very well be a LONG experience, and possibly end up in a C-Section.  Now, I know LOTS of Mom's that say to avoid a C-Section at all costs...and maybe I will have that opinion later too....but it's looking like if this baby boy is as stubborn as his father can be...it may end up a C-Section.  I'm not opposed, as long as he and I are both healthy and as long as I have lots of good drugs and little pain.  Pain & I are NOT friends.  This kid is comin' out one way or another, that's for sure! After he has arri...

Lots of happenings...updates, and nostalgia

You could say I've been slacking on blogging...but it's not like I have not been busy!!  Getting ready for a new baby is work I tell ya!  The good news is, nesting is right up my alley.  So many updates below in one post: Doctor Stats & Update:   Baby B (yes, still no name people, I'm deciding when I meet him, leave me alone people) is doing well, growing much bigger.  He is up to a full 7lbs now according to his ultrasound Monday.  I've only gained 12 total pounds overall, so it's ALL BABY!  Doctor at one point told me she would induce at 39 weeks or even 38, which would be Feb.6th, but Monday she said she couldn't guarantee this since the hospital we choose is so popular (really?!).  With babies gaining 1/2 pound approximately per week, he could be an 8.5lb kid.  Ugh.  Trust me, he feels like 10 now!!  I'm all about getting this show on the road now.  So, if you have any ideas, tips or tricks, please e-mail me....a...

Time fly's....

Time fly's.....when you're having fun!  WOW, what happened?  It's already December 11th, only 14 days until Christmas?!  I am just ordering my Christmas cards, yikes!  Better get busy, that's for sure! We have been home almost a week now from our wonderful trip up north to Colorado to spend Thanksgiving with my family.  It was a great trip.  I love spending time with my family during the winter months, since it's the only time they are not working at the trading post day in and day out.  This year, we were able to make a big Thanksgiving dinner together, enjoyed some shopping with my mom, and just generally hung out and relaxed, and avoided the below zero morning temps by the fire....well, that was until December 3rd.  Dec 3-5, we helped my parents host the World Coyote Calling Championships.  John had a good friend come up, and they competed in the competition as well.  It was their first year competing, so let's say they le...

Baby B Update

Image
It was Doctor day today....and all seems to be going really well.  Our baby boy is growing bigger and he is healthy, and seemingly happy in there for now!  Mommy LOST a pound this month if you can believe that, and the doctor told me that since I was pretty tall, and started out not a small gal, I'm not showing like some might.  Seriously, if you didn't know me, you'd probably think I just have put on a few pounds, I just look fatter.  (Look at below post picture with Jayde...Jayde is only 6 weeks further along than me, and she's all cutie pie baby preggo!).   Definately not the 'cute' pregnant mommy here...more like the 'hmmm, she needs to stop eating' mommy!  Oh well, I don't really care, as long as he is healthy.  They took a cute picture of his face.  Since he is getting bigger, it's harder to get the good pics anymore.  Tighter quarters I guess.  I am not going to spend the extra few hundred bucks for a 3D ultrasound...

Proof is in the picture, it's a boy!

Apparently, this child is going to just start off shocking us all.  I think everyone, including Mom & Dad, thought 'he' was definately a 'she'!  "Baby B" stands for "BOY"!  Surprise...that is definately NOT a Va-JJ going on there between those two legs in the lower picture.  I think it's proof positive that we are awaiting the arrival of the next John R. Brown.  We still don't know what the "R" will stand for, but that will be his called name.  We already have more than one "John", so we'll have to start figuring that out soon. Everything looked great, he is healthy and normal.  Was moving all over, even flipped completely over during the long 45 min ultrasound.  He is measuring at 9oz right now, which is actually a little bit big (oh crap!). Well, since I'm not exactly the world's most 'prissy' girly girl, perhaps it is fate that we will have a little boy to add to our family.  He better be rou...

Posting about ?

OK, I have no pictures, no cool cute stuff to write about. I'm just pregnant. So, I will take this opportunity to expand upon the fact, for those who may not know me well enough....let me just state that I am NOT some earthy, happy, oh lucky me, I'm pregnant kind of gal. Yes, I feel incredibly blessed to be having a BABY, but seriously, it's 4 months into this and I already want my body back. Why is it the woman has to muddle through this 9 months of torturous, body changing, body functioning (I won't even go there), hungry, tired, did I say exhausted, can't sleep well, up at 6am daily, kind of existance? I think the man upstairs should have taken a real good look at this way back when. Seriously. Like, couldn't there be a 'baby store' out there somewhere...or maybe even a shared experience with the Dad? John helped me into this situation right? The last three days I think I've had 10 people ask me if I was sick. No, not sick, just pregnant...

It's official, I'm pregnant!!

Bet ya thought you'd never hear it! Yep, it's really REALLY true....we are pregnant! Having a BABY, due February 13th! There is quite a background story, and we feel truly blessed to be pregnant, healthy and scared to death :) A little background for those that don't know. Once upon a time...(no, just kidding). When John and I married, we really didn't think we wanted children. After a bout of testicular cancer a few years back, which John recovered from, along with the birth of Quincy (a very good friends little girl) around the same time frame...we started to question our thought. Having the ability to have a child nearly taken away from you tends to change your mind a bit. Once I turned 35, I knew it was now or never. So we left the decision, and the fate of parenthood, up to a higher power. We always had the thought that 'if it happens, it' happens, and if it was meant to be then it would be. Well, after about a year of trying to conceive, counting the days...
