It's official, I'm pregnant!!
Bet ya thought you'd never hear it! Yep, it's really REALLY true....we are pregnant! Having a BABY, due February 13th! There is quite a background story, and we feel truly blessed to be pregnant, healthy and scared to death :)
A little background for those that don't know. Once upon a time...(no, just kidding). When John and I married, we really didn't think we wanted children. After a bout of testicular cancer a few years back, which John recovered from, along with the birth of Quincy (a very good friends little girl) around the same time frame...we started to question our thought. Having the ability to have a child nearly taken away from you tends to change your mind a bit. Once I turned 35, I knew it was now or never. So we left the decision, and the fate of parenthood, up to a higher power. We always had the thought that 'if it happens, it' happens, and if it was meant to be then it would be. Well, after about a year of trying to conceive, counting the days (it's so technical, who knew!)...nothing was happening and the doctor started talking about infertility. We did know, without a doubt, that we did not want to go that route and become the next multiple family...no thanks. So we kind of put the thought to the back of our mind.
Wouldn't you know it....the moment we essentially stopped trying...hmmm, I woke up a couple of mornings in a row feeling not so hot. (Have I mentioned I am NOT a puker, will do anything to avoid it, anything?)!! Needless to say, the rest is well...in progress.
So far, I did have a few weeks of pukey feelings, which to most would have probably been nothing, but to me, it was awful. Thank god that went away! Been SUPER SUPER tired, like another force has control of your sleep schedule. Otherwise, feeling great!
Since I'm old (seriously, of advanced maternal age & they don't let you forget that), we have had to go through a series of genetic type tests. So far, everything has come back with excellent results, and although no guarantee, Baby B (as I like to call him or her for Baby Brown), seems to be healthy. He or she is definitely in there with arms and legs, fingers and toes...it's amazing. We have seen the pictures, although I have yet to feel anything. In time I'm sure.
These pics are actually from the end of July, but better than nothing....we will have new & improved pics up mid-September, as we will have a detailed Ultrasound on the 14th...hoping the little one cooperates and we will know if it's a boy or a girl at that time!
Now, pick yourself up off the floor. This is not April Fools, we really are having a baby! Start saying some prayers people, we need all that we can get!
Love,
Mommy & Daddy Brown to be!!
Yippeeee!!! So happy for both you and John. You're going to be the bestess parents ever! Don't worry about that AMA label--just makes us "mature" ones feel special!!! Better starting looking for newborn cowboy boots now :)

ReplyDeleteThat's a great story! We are so happy for you. You guys will be wonderful parents. Matt and I always love when more of our friends become parents.....that way we are all in the same boat. Ha! No more restaurants....just get togethers at someone's house:)
ReplyDeleteHoly Crap, I had already heard through the grape vine! But I have to say holy crap! CONGRADULATIONS! Holy Crap! I cannnot believe. I remember you both saying to me....."Oh, I do not know about children".....we have our dogs! One more time, okay? Holy Crap! Best of Wishes....the baby B will be here before you know it, enjoy this time, it's amazing! Taf
ReplyDeleteSOOOOOO HAPPY FOR YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are so excited and cant wait to see Baby B.
Could not have happened to two better people. I know it sucks to have so many body changes and emotion changes, but you just wait until you look into the eyes of the child, the one you two creadted out of love. I am so happy and jazzed...Ok so I looked at the pictures and there does appear to be only one in the "oven". We all look forward to meeting baby B.....
