Colorado Bliss

Ahhh, the weather was worth a million bucks! John and I had a great visit to my family in Colorado this last week. Spent time with my Mom, Judy, and step-dad Bill at the store (it's a working thing during tourist season due to the trading post!), and we also spent some time fishing with my Dad, Keith. We went up on the Dolores (West Fork) river, and were able to fish on Dunton property. Dunton was once a tiny little hot springs 'shack' town when I was just a kid. We would camp up there, cross country ski, and swim in the natural hot springs, which was located in a shack. Now-a-days, the place is owned by a very wealthy foreign family, and they have turned it into a beautiful resort property, restoring everything to 'new' but it still looks 'old'. It's 5 star and then some. It's kept it's rustic charm and it's old feel, even the hot springs. I am grateful that we know the manager very well (family friend) and my Dad helps stock the trout into...

Summer Weekend Happenings... I will try my best to keep up with what has sorted out to be a very busy summer all of the sudden! Starting with last weekend.... Oh, how I so remember all these songs!! Conjunction Junction, what's your function...Interplanet Janet...oh the list goes on and on (p.s. Uncle John was singing along too)!!! Took me a week, but here are photos of our Quincy, from her role in Schoolhouse Rock last weekend. We just love going to see her plays! She sang ever single song, and was "mercury rising" too! Such a talentented young lady she is. We are a proud auntie and uncle for sure! Since it's already the next weekend, while I'm posting for last weekend...we are headed to spend tomorrow night at the Scottsdale Princess, and act like tourists with money...lay by the pool and drink some pina colada's!! Yee hoo!

What a weekend of great fun! My sister-in-law Cindy and I headed to San Diego over memorial day, just hoping for a fun 'get away from it all' weekend with plans to see family and enjoy the beach. We were able to have dinner with my younger brother, Ross, who hap pens to be at Point Loma in San Diego before his departure to New Hampshire. He is a submariner with our U.S. Navy, on the USS Helena. Sunday he gave us a tour of the base, his sub and was splendid about answering 2 gals questions, questions, questions! I'm certain he had a laugh from all of our dumb questions. We were chatty. The tour was incredible, I can honestly say "I had no idea". I am so proud of my brother, and I have a new found respect not only for him, but also for all our service men and women. Those submariners, wow, what a sacrifice and really a talent to serve in the capacity they choose. I am proud, I feel safe and I am so grateful to have been able to visit! After the tour, we headed up...

Country Thunder 2009... Boy, can you say "feeling old", but it was so much fun. The benefits of being old = affording the rv to stay on site with friends! We had a great weekend camping, drinkin, people watching, enjoying great music and well, the wind was the only downer. Some notables, The Zac Brown Band, a new fav! Also, Montgomery Gentry and Alan Jackson were excellent, Blake Shelton, Little Big Town...so many. It was a great time! My husband turned 44 on the 16th...we are celebrating this weekend with friends and family. A full weekend of all kinds of redneck activities, shooting, drinkin, bbq's, family and friends...hmm, I se nse a theme. I'll post pics next week. Finally, a big congratulations to my girlfriend Denise and her hubby Jason. Little Madeline Dean was born on Wednesday, April 15th. She is absolutely beautiful, perfect and tiny. They are blessed, I am jealous.... It's FRIDAY!!!! Yippeee.....
