First Haircut & Fireman Rhett

This Saturday was a special 'first' for Mommy, since she is in the 'barbershop' world every day. The barbershop holds a special place for me, it's a job that I truly love and enjoy. I've been looking ahead to this moment pretty much since I found out I was having a little boy. I knew he would have a place in the barbershop world I live in daily. Mr. V. (Mommy's boss) also adores and dotes on my little boy, all the more reason that Mommy needs to be sure Rhett is a V's boy

The hair was starting to wisp around the back of his neck and over his ears. The little curls were blonde, wispy and very cute, but also getting very messy. It was time to graduate from babyhood into boyhood. Ahhh, he's growing up!

This is Rhett getting ready, at the Arcadia barbershop sitting on Daddy's lap and waiting his turn. His T-shirt appropriately states "You're Looking At A Legend".

Barber Igor cutting Rhett's hair. Rhett was actually fairly calm and just a bit sqiurmy. He was squirmy because the hair kept falling in his face and tickling him. Igor tells us the 'screaming' comes at haircut #2. Great.

Rhett's newest word: "Bye Bye" so, we say "Bye Bye Baby"!

After the big day of haircuts, we decided to take Aunt Cindy and Uncle Jim some lunch and show off the new "do" as they were dealing with some flooding in thier home. We thought we might be able to cheer them up a little bit. While we were there, John and Jim smelled something burning and wouldn't you know, the HOUSE was on FIRE!! The electrical wiring in the attic had melted and the insulation and some eves were burning. 911, a bit of panic, LOTS of firetrucks, dirt and a HUGE mess later. Rhett got a new hat.
