It's all over now...he's walking.

Image
This post is delayed a couple of days....as 24 hours after Rhett started taking unassisted steps, he was full on walking by Saturday.  No joke.  This boy isn't kidding around, he has stuff to see and do and he frankly, doesn't need our help. Here is a short video of his walking skills, albeit they are a little 'drunken sailor' at the moment, but they get better by the hour!! Grandma Brown & cousin Maddy were able to witness Rhett's walking skills develop while visiting this weekend.  It was a great visit.  We all enjoyed going to Danica's first birthday party on Saturday, she had so much party fun, she passed out in the middle of opening her gifts! Rhett went ahead and helped her out opening a few more and testing out her new chair. Here she is asleep in her new recliner. Dani asleep in her recliner Rhett has also decided that it's appropriate to put his toys IN the Christmas tree now, as they really should be decorations too right?  Gra...

Steps!

Image
Today Rhett took his very first independent steps! He walked between Mommy & Daddy, about 10ft, back & forth 3 times. He was so proud of himself, and then quickly wanted to hold our fingers to RUN again. Rhett also had some great fun helping Mommy wrap presents today...Yes, he is IN the wrapping paper box of supplies. It's all about the bows & boxes, really. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Colorado Visit with the Grandparents

Image
Last week Rhett & I were so lucky and happy to fly back to Colorado for an 'in between' holiday visit! It was so fun to spend time with all the grandparents and get away from the city for awhile too. Rhett is such a great traveler, it's hard to stay home! Rhett really experienced his first 'taste', literally, of snow, courtesy of his Grandma Judy..and he was able to see Chickens, Grandma taught him how to drink out of a real cup (who needs a sippy cup?), be present and Grandpa Hutch's art show opening and do lots of visiting and shopping with family. A few pics commemorating the trip below. Since Rhett is growing and changing so quickly, I wish we were just a little bit closer to my home, I miss having my parents and family take part in Rhett's growing up so much. We'll be burning up the highways, skyways and Internet trying to keep up. Grandma & Rhett Rhett & I ready for the day! It was cold!! Grandpa Hutch & Rhett at h...

Santa Visit

Image
It was a big day, visiting Santa and all...but truly, the hit was the candy cane after.  You would have thought I gave him the tastiest treat on the planet!  "Real" food is really starting to come into full play now!  A few funny pics to commemorate the moment.  Rhett could have cared less about the very odd looking (really!) Santa, and Dani, well she wanted NO PART of any of it.  Ok, take the picture so I can get off this guys lap.  MOM!!!! Who are you?  You look weird. Mmmmm, it's all about this candy cane. That's a BIG NO THANK YOU from Dani.  Freaked out! Mmmm, more candy! Santa Aftermath...wiped out!

Thanksgiving 2010

Image
Gobble Gobble Happy Thanksgiving 2010 Rhett on his first Thanksgiving, ready to feast! We enjoyed a quiet Thanksgiving holiday in Arizona this year.  Unusual for us, since we are usually in Colorado over the holiday with my family.  We cooked a small 'feast' and had Rhonda, Nic, Jayde & Dani over.  We had some fun 'posing' Rhett with the turkey also; and he did enjoy some mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy and distinctly DISLIKED the cranberry sauce!  Not quite ready for turkey yet.  I even managed to get up the Christmas tree, much to Rhett's delight, and Mommy stayed up late decorating. We were all sick over the holiday too, so we spent our couple of days just laying around in our jammies trying to recover and get well. Rhett enjoyed lots of cartoon watching, with his Grinch also!  Rhett also recently cut tooth #3, and I can see on his top gum line several teeth just ready to pop through.  It's been a teething frenzy in our house. We...

Today I have learned....

Image
Been a little couch potato lately, not feeling himself.  Affects detailed below. Last night Rhett wasn't acting his usual spunky self, was kind of lazy and wanted to sit on the sofa next to his Mom and just watch some cartoons.  It was a busy weekend with family in town, so I just let him relax.  He went to bed and slept sound through the night, nothing unusual. Today, well....today was one of those days that I truly feel like a 'mom', or at least the not so sexy parts of being a mom.  Detailed below.  If you have a queasy stomach, don't read any further.  Stop now.  Really.  Stop. We were our way to run an errand for my work (to a public place)....and I had to stop for gas.  Rhett is happy, nothing unusual.  I open up the back door and my son looks over at me.  He then proceeds to projectile vomit allllll over himself, the car seat, the back seat, his toys, the blanket..oh, and me also.  I'm telling you, I nev...
