Colorado Visit

Right after 6 month pics were taken, Rhett and Mommy went to visit the Colorado Grandparents.  We needed to get out of the heat for awhile and it was a great time.  We did a lot of visiting with everyone.  Rhett decided he LOVES the outdoors and he was truly in heaven the entire week.  We were able to relax on the porch, outside.  He discovered a couple of really awesome outdoor things.  Trees and Birds.  He loved just being outside gazing up into the trees, and he even got his hands on a few, tearing the leaves and branches he could muster off the limbs.  He also spotted geese, black birds and even had an encounter with some chickens!  He rolled around in some green cold grass, received several puppy kisses, worked on his crawling, yoga & hopping skills.  Mommy raided Granddads garden before returning home.  A fun time was had by all. Amblyopia & A Boy

Just after receiving the new glasses. Notice anything different?  Our cute little blond-haired boy, now has glasses.  He is three.  He is a boy.  He likes to jump up and down and acts like a crazy loon somedays.  Oh, boy...my boy...this is going to be FUN. Our pediatrician noticed something amis with Rhett's eyes at his 3 year check up (take your kids to the doctor everyone!).  He referred us to a pediatric opthamologist.  I was perplexed how in the world they would test a 3 year olds eyes.  It's not like he can read a chart!  It was a long and challenging appointment, but a nice doc, and we left with a diagnosis.  We also left with a directive.   Turns out, they don't use a chart with all of the "E" turned all over the place.  They use pictures of fun stuff like cake, trees, bears, houses etc.  Everything else is exactly the same.   So they plop my kiddo in the big giant chair, turn off all of the lights and ...

One Month Old - The things I have learned....

It's hard to believe he is a month old today...Rhett In a very short time, I have learned a lot about being a mother, and I am certain and hopeful that what I know will be only the beginning...this is so much work...and so much fun!! I have learned that you can do virtually anything with one hand...dishes, typing, fix a bottle, your makeup, feed the dogs, clean up a mess, laundry... I have learned that there is nothing that will make your heart melt as the child you carried for nine months... I have learned that you can be pooped on and pee'd on and you still love them.... I have learned that warm wet wipes, bottle warmers and pampers are worth it.... I have learned that Mommies are the heart of a family, and Daddy's need them too..... I have learned that the middle of the night, and early in the morning doesn't have to be all that bad, as long as it's for them....(but I still don't think I will become a morning person) I have learned that the do...
