Growing too fast! 19 months old!

He's learning to ride a tricycle these days...
A couple of weeks ago, I blogged about Rhett spending the week with Mommy.  It was an awesome week, and an entire week to spend 24/7 with him, really getting an idea of how much he grows and changes every single day.  During this week, I decided to start writing down all of the 'words' that Rhett was using on a regular basis.  Well, that quickly became writing down all of the word combinations, short sentences and actions that this 19 month old little BOY is well aware of, using to gain everything he wants out of his daily routine.

We can start with the easy stuff:
Mama (let us not forget, it was his first word!), also variations of Mom (that was weird to hear) and Mommy.
Papa, along with variations of Daddy.
I Love You - he has just started telling us he loves us.  It's usually more along the lines of love you Mama, love you Papa.  I'll take it any way, any how.
Daddy's TRUCK!  The truck said with emphasis.  This is a favorite, it means that Papa is home, and that he might even be going for a ride in the gloriously tall vehicle, which is bouncy.  But more important than anything else, he gets to ride facing forward.
Daddy Working, Bye Bye is what Rhett usually says in the morning when he realizes that Daddy's truck is gone.
Blankie - which is pronounced "Bintee" - it sounds odd to type that, but it is the name he has given his blankets which he loves and adores.  Kiddo doesn't have a binky, or a bottle, but if someone tries to take away his blankies, you might have an issue on your hands.
Nummy - or num num num - when he's really hungry.
Mickey - Mickey Mouse
Cailou - and most of the characters also, we watch PBS folks!
Elmo & Grover - Rhett is big into Sesame street.  I also just downloaded the Monster At The End of This Book starring Grover.  It's on my iPad, which is really kind of freaky to me.  I had the actual BOOK when I was a child, I remember it.  I loved it.  Rhett has it on my iPad, as an app, where Grover reads the book to him and acts out the story.  That is seriously crazy, and weird.
Tickle, tickle!  He loves to tickle us too, and will come after us with his little fingers wiggling.
Happy Day!  This has to be the best way to say "Happy Birthday" ever.  Rhett will run around saying it over and over.  He will normally follow up that with a profound explanation of "Cake!"  I think my kid likes cake.
Hot and Cold, with the understanding of both.  He will also say "blow", then blow on his hot food to cool it off.
More - Rhett learned this sign and the word early on.  He will now use it to ask for whatever he wants.  More cake, more nummy, more book, more bubble, more .....
All Done - again, something that started out as a sign with Rhett and has turned into an anthem.  He always announces when he is done with something, whatever it may be.
Have It - typically Rhett will say this when he wants to hand you something that he no longer needs or wants to carry around.  This includes 1/2 eaten food that he wants to get out of his mouth, so he can put something else in his mouth.
Please, which sounds like "peas", and is the cutest "please" you will ever hear.  It pretty much guarantees he will get whatever it is he is asking for when he says that one simple word.
Thank You, which sounds like "tank you" and again, so stinking cute.  I just make him say it to get stuff because I love to hear it!  Poor kid will be saying Please and Thank you for everything!  Last night he sat at the kitchen table during dinner saying "Tank you Mama, Tank you Papa, Tank you Rio, Tank you light".  He's a thankful child.
Welcome, which is 'walcum' and we are working on this.  It doesn't always come so easily.
Ready, Set, Go!  Loves to say this one, before take off.  Off the couch, out the door, in the tub, you name it.
Play, usually combined with "mama play" and often "mama play outside"
Walk.  We have been walking daily since its cooling off.  He knows the word walk, and usually follows it up by saying "Popsicle" then wants to run out to the garage and climb into the jogger stroller all by himself and promptly sit down.  The quicker you get into the stroller, the quicker you get that popsicle.  And if he's really excited, about the walk, or anything else, it's Go, Go, Go!
Slide - kid loves a slide.  Water slides, regular slides at the playground, any kind of slide.
Swim Swim - kick kick, swim.  I think he's obsessed with fish because he wants to be one.  He loves the water, loves to swim and has zero fear.
Climb - as he climbs you like a jungle gym, climbs into his own high chair at the table or climbs into the stroller.  He's tried climbing into the car, not ready for that yet.
Fast Cars - Daddy's obsession with Nascar is rubbing off.
Football - throw it (frow it) - kid loves some football too.  Are they born with that gene or something?
Bubble Bubble - which is bath time fun!.
Potty, pee pee and of course, poop'bite' which is a piece of candy.  Bribery is not beneath me.  No way.
Diaper or "diapee", and he tries to help put it on, sprinkle powder and recently he wants to wipe himself.  What baby?!
Teeth, brush my teeth - he loves to brush his teeth!  Happens every evening and every morning.  (so don't judge about the 'bite', it all gets washed off those pearly whites).
Wash It - this kid loves to wash things.  His toothbrush, himself., the floor, the furniture.  In the tub he will name all of his parts, wash hair, wash body, wash knees, wash legs, wash butt, wash back..you get the idea.
Coloring - which really sounds perfect.  He colors in the tub, everything.
Pancake, Egg?  His usual morning requests.  Which he often gets.
Shoe, and always Rhett's shoe, Mommy's shoe or Daddy's shoe.
Cup, or "Cuppy" affectionately he says.  More juice, more milk, etc.
Ni Night - Night Night or Goodnight. Goodnight Moon is a favorite book he must read every night.
Watering - sounds like watering now, but when he first started to flip out over loving to water, it came out "waareee" and resulted in the kid getting a hose to play with, or his water table, or simply taking a dip in Rio's water bowl (no joke).
Sit which he will do if I ask him to, as he stands on the sofa, the bed, the stool, over the tub...or like tonight when he's walking and gets tired.  Says to me "sit" and proceeds to just sit in the middle of the sidewalk.  Apparently he was tired.
Hey, I like this - so he tells Mary Beth, his daytime care provider.  For a turkey and cheese sandwich.  Really?
Nanny (my Mom), Granddad, Grandpa, Grandma, Auntie, Uncle, Bestfriend Danica, Auntie Nana, you name it, they go on and on, but all of his loved ones he can name.
Sweep Sweep Sweep - the kid loves to sweep, mop.
Clean Up, Clean Up - we love the clean up song in this house.  He's catching on.  Wonder if I sing it in 15 years if it will still work?
Cool!  Cool Dude.  He is a parrot.  I told him he was a cool dude tonight because he was wearing his shades.  He of course, repeated, repeatedly.
Dance!  He loves to dance, and will tell you to dance also.  He loves to shake his arms, his head, his booty.

Rhett & Danica playing last Friday, growing up so fast!
Animals!  A small sampling of the MANY he knows.  He is starting to use the sounds, the colors and he loves to point out anything he can identify.  The zoo is lots of fun right now.
Doggy, woof woof!  He also knows "Rio" now, and will go through the house yelling "Rio, where are you" which sounds more like "Weee O, R U?"  Another favorite is "doggy cookie?" and he is allowed to give Rio a cookie.  He quickly learned "one more" while holding up his one index finger.  So, he always follows up one request with "one more cookie, doggie?".  Rio is a very spoiled dog.
Kitty, meow!  Rhett loves kitty cats, and if he finds one will seek it out until the poor thing is hiding under the nearest bed or sofa.
Cow, moo moo, Monkey, oo ooo oooo
Horsey, neigh neigh.  He usually follows this with 'apple' because he remembers feeding the horse apples when we were in Colorado last.
Fish - the kid is obsessed with fish.  Starting to learn colors of fish in books.  What do you say, a fish doesn't really make a sound!
Duck - quack quack
Turtle - ok, same issue as the fish.  No sound, but he loves to say turtle!

I love this picture!  Look at how Rhett & Dani are both cracking up laughing!  We were singing Mozy Old Joe.
An example of a recent sentence (in my mind).  Explanation:  Auntie Nana brought Rhett a really antique Mickey Mouse, that was once Nic's.  We later discovered Mickey is missing his nose.  I had to put Mickey up on a high dresser and explained to Rhett that we had to fix Mickey's nose before he could play with it.  Rhett says to me, days later mind you...."Mickey nose, owie, fix it?"  He is understanding so much, and repeating it, understanding the concepts.

Night time routine at our house is comical.  We are routine kind of people.  After walk, num num and bubble bubble (see above for translation) we then have to read book.  That always turns into one more.  About 10 times.  Which Mommy is always happy to do.
Then....we have to say night night.  After we read Goodnight Moon, every night, Rhett will grab his nearest 4 bintees and run as fast as possible into wherever his Papa is.  He doesn't run to Papa, nope.  He runs to the sofa or chair and climbs in and hides under the bintee.  Then Mommy scoops him up, gives him to Daddy and Rhett gets kisses and says night night.  Then, Rhett must say night night to EVERYTHING else he could possibly find along the way.  It typically sounds like this:  "Ni night papa, love you.  Ni night rio doggy.  Ni Night cuppy.  Ni night table.  Ni night book.  Ni night light.  Ni night Elmo"  Then Mommy has to ask for her own kisses and ni nights.  I usually have to steal my kisses, and once I tuck him into bed, on the way out the door I sometimes get a "Ni night Mommy, love you".  MELTS you in your tracks.  Just as a side note, Rhett is currently snoozing in his bed...with 5 bintees.  Yes, 5.  He collects them, stashes them all over the house, then we have to collect them ALL before Ni Night.  He's going to build a tower with them and climb out of his crib soon.  Thankfully, he has not had any interest in getting out of there just yet.
I just love these kiddos!!

And the final heart breaker...as he looks at me from under my feet...."Mamma, wanna hold you!".  Which means instant gratification, as I scoop him up into my arms and do exactly that.  This has become one of his favorite phrases as of late.  Mama's too.
