Weddings & Dress Up!

The Pigati wedding party Wow, what a combined post!  A wedding and Halloween, all covered within a week.  It's been a crazy October, and by the way, what has happened to 2010?? Family photo! Last weekend, Sunday, October 24th, our nephew Nicolas, married his high school sweetheart, Jayde.  This is Danica's mommy & daddy, so it was an extra happy occasion for the whole family.  What a beautiful day it turned out to be, and such a beautiful bride, ceremony (short & sweet!) and of course, the babies were both in the wedding in all their cuteness & baby glory.... Handsome boy. Mama....Mom

I've been waiting to blog about this moment!!  It has finally, well I think, at least I'm pretty sure.... arrived!  His first 'official' word...."Mama...Mom"!  He has been mumbling this for quite some time.  Over the past 2 weeks, I would think that I for sure heard it in the morning, or at times when he was cranky or fussy.  But it wasn't really clear, and more of a distress cry.  So, I didn't think it was clear enough to 'claim'...but now, as of the last two days, it's clear as day and it's obvious...and he won't stop saying it!  Of course, the word itself transforms into loads of hugs and kisses and a lot of attention from Mom, so of course he will keep saying it!  We caught some video last night.  Again, keep in mind that it's all he wants to say or mutter.  He can also say, or express, the 'mmmmm' sound when he's eating his dinner.  He has been doing that for some time.  I do think he has the association with &q

Ellie - In loving memory, I will miss my girl.

Not a snow lover, in Colorado With her buddy, Schatzi dog. It was an incredibly sad day in our house yesterday, as our 'big girl' Rottweiler, Ellie, suffered a seizure and we had to put her down.  She went into a seizure in the middle of the day and it really just never stopped.  We rushed her to the emergency vet, and after nearly an hour without reprieve, and medicines not working, we made a very hard decision.  They advised us that more than likely she had a brain tumor which caused it. This was completely unexpected and a devastating loss to us.  Ellie was the sweetest girl and such a furry Mommy to our baby boy Rhett.  She protected us at all times.  She was always 'on guard' with Rhett.  Even recently, when Rhett learned how to pull up to a stand, she would often simply stand behind him waiting to break his fall so he would not risk hitting the hard floors.  Once Rhett started crawling, she also 'herded' him, by nuzzling him with her nose to r
